Summary[]
Carol Ferris was left in charge of the Ferris Aircraft Company after her father retired, leading to her hiring Hal Jordan as a test pilot. Though she secretly loved Hal (and Green Lantern), his status as an employee prevented her from dating him. At the same time, the alien Zamarons were desperate for a new queen, so they chose Carol. Though Carol did not want to leave Earth, the Zamarons brainwashed her into believing Green Lantern was an enemy and gave her the Star Sapphire Ring, causing her to become Star Sapphire.
