- In Post-Crisis, Krypton was in the Andromeda galaxy. The explosion also managed to eventually propel shards of Kryptonite to Earth by the time of the New Krypton storyline. This story started in December of 2008. The Crisis on Infinite Earths ended in March of 1986. IIRC in Post-Crisis, Superman was around 30 years old when he debuted. So, the Kryptonite took 52 years and 9 months to reach Earth from Krypton.

- Through the Adam Strange series, we know that Zeta-Beams are arrive on a schedule from the 4.3 years that they have been sent. On Earth, Adam goes to the a predetermined spot of where the beam will arrive. If he misses it, he will have to cath the next one. Looking at the history of Zeta-Beams, they are more consistant to be Lightspeed. We don't downgrade Superman to below lightspeed because that wouldn't be consistant with his own series.

- With most of the population of Earth running, Wally is filled with kinetic energy. Krakkl sacrificed himself to add his own speed to Wally’s, giving him enough of an edge to win. In an infinitesimal fraction of a second, he approaches trans-time velocity. Several speedsters on Earth race, giving him more kinetic energy, and he achieves trans-time velocity. He enters the Fourth Dimension and makes it to Earth.

Basically, the concept in Albert Einstein's Special Relativity which states that the further an object approaches the speed of light, both his relative mass and the required energy to move at such speeds increase towards infinity. For an object with mass to move at the speed of light, infinite energy would be required (E = MC²).
When performing the Infinite Mass Punch, The Flash runs just under the speed of light, and per the Laws of Relativity his mass increases exponentially until he reaches the Relativistic Mass of a White Dwarf Star. Thus, we can use the Relativistic KE Formula to calculate the energy of the IMP.
